University is a time of many changes and challenges for a lot of people. Being able to talk to a peer – someone who understands what you’re going through at your university and can empathise – can, and does, make a difference. Students can anonymously and confidentially talk to Nightline volunteers about anything they like without being judged or told what to do. No matter what the problem is, Nightline’s there to listen.
All Nightlines are run by trained student volunteers to provide an emotional support, but many Nightlines also offer information and/or sexual health supplies. Operating in the night when many other university services are closed, Nightline aims to be a source of support for students who might not otherwise have someone to talk to. With no restrictions on what they can talk about and no need to share any personal details, Nightline truly is a safe space for students to turn to
