For a Nightline

We always need student volunteers to speak to callers on our help lines and to take on committee roles to run each Nightline. Please find your Nightline and let them know you’d like to help. They’ll be delighted to hear from you.

Working for Nightline can be challenging but also hugely rewarding.

Nightline stands apart from many other student activities which are often social or recreational.  Through intensive training you will develop strong communication skills including active listening and if you take on a committee role you can gain a wealth of experience including:

Have you left university or are about to and don’t want to wave farewell to Nightline? Are you a current volunteer that would like to keep up-to-date with all things Nightline?  Is this the first time you've heard of Nightline but you have a skill you think the charity could benefit from?

Charity Coordinator

An exciting opportunity to manage a national umbrella charity and lead an enthusiastic and committed volunteer team.

• Purpose of the post: To implement operational strategy and manage the day-to-day operation of the charity
• Salary: £18-20k PA (pro rata)
• Contract: Full time May - December 2010. Maternity cover for the Chief Executive.  Start date negotiable.  Potential for continued employment.
• Location: UK home-based.  Need to attend one Away day and three Trustee Meetings in London.
• Application deadline: 5pm 9 April 2010

1. General Secretary: To lead, supervise and support the work of the Executive Officers.
2. Volunteer Manager: To lead, supervise and support the work of the volunteer team.

Appointments Committee Members

The Appointments Committee are responsible for interviewing, selecting and appraising candidates for all staff, trustee and line manager posts. The committee comprises the HR and finance trustee, the Chief Executive and General Secretary and the Nightline Association asks the Nightline community to elect three Nightline representatives on to the Appointments Committee annually.  We are seeking candidates for these positions.
